What's New for JBO 3.2

Archive: JBO Changes by Release

The majority of changes for version 3.2 listed below were implemented in response to users' suggestions for improvements.  They encompass the broad areas of  review process, decision / notification process, reports, global changes, and mid-cycle changes (implemented in early- to mid-January).

Please continue to submit feedback so that we may ensure that users' needs are being considered as we determine development priorities.

Changes include:
 

  • Review process:

    • Ability for each AE to create 3 customized templates for use in composing reviewer thank-you letters; each letter may be further personalized "on-the-fly" before sending to an individual reviewer

    • Ability to rename review-request letter templates with descriptive titles to enable significantly faster and more efficient identification of content / purpose of each template

    • Ability for all editors to edit reviews (equivalent to the pre-existing ability of the manuscript coordinator)

  • Decision / notification process:

    • Capture and re-use of salutations for thank-you letters that were previously entered for review requests

    • Addition of option for each AE to withhold reviews from reviewers on a per-manuscript basis

  • Reports: 

    • Addition of a "Contributing Reviewers" report that generates a list of reviewers' names (by Ad Hoc Editors, Editorial Board, or Both) for a user-specified date range
       

  • Global Changes:

    • Transfer of the JBO to a new server for improved system stability (in progress)
       

  • Mid-Cycle Changes:

    • APA Member Expertise Search tool (implemented 1/20)

    • Year-end reports (implemented week of 1/5)
